We are a modern health centre whose team is committed to developing and maintaining the highest quality of health care which is both progressive and responsive to patient’s needs.

We hope you find this website helpful, we have tried to include everything you may need to find the right health care services for you.

Our promise to you and what you can do to help us take care of you is contained in our MISSION STATEMENT

FIRSWAY MISSION STATEMENT

We promise to give you the best possible care:-

By doing a number of simple things well:

The people you see and talk to will always give you their names and deal with you promptly, courteously and with respect.

You will always be treated as an individual and a partner in your healthcare irrespective of gender, ethnic origin, sexuality or religious or cultural beliefs.

We will give you full information on the services we offer and we will provide advice and guidance on the steps you can take to keep healthy and avoid illness.

We will ask for your opinions through our patient group and patient surveys, we value what you say to us so please let us know.

You can help us to help you

Please let us know if you change your name, address or telephone number and do everything you can to keep appointments and tell us as soon as possible if you cannot.

Please ask for home visits by the doctor only when the patient is housebound.

Remember, you are responsible for your own health and the health of your children. We will give you all the professional help and advice we can – please act on it!

If you are unsure about any of the information on this website please ask us.

HAVE YOU HAD YOUR FLU JAB?

If you are 65 and over or suffer with a chronic disease such as Asthma, Diabetes, Chronic Heart Disease and have not already had your flu jab, please contact the surgery to arrange an appointment.

TELEPHONE SYSTEM UPDATE

We are still in discussion with the telephone company. They have suggested a computer upgrade to improve the system when dealing with high demand. Hopefully this will prevent patients being cut off or being asked to use extention numbers.

We thank you for your patience as we continue to work on this problem.

HAVING TROUBLE GETTING AN APPOINTMENT?

We still see a large number of patients for appointments that could have been dealt with by a Pharmacist or NHS Direct. If your appointment is for a minor ailment, please see your Pharmacist or call NHS Direct on 0845 4647 for advice before taking up an appointment with your GP.

Please Note: We have two new community services based at Firsway.

BLUESCI offer a simple stepping stone approach to help you improve and maintain your wellbeing. For further information contact 0161 9122177 or ask your GP.

Trafford Carers now offer a walk in advisory service for all carers every Monday 9am to 4.30pm. The helpline is 848 2400.
